It’s always (and by always, I mean next to never) good to see a former Phillie doing well. It’s even better to see them not do so well. On Wednesday, Brett Myers made his first start of the season for his new team, the Houston Former Phillies.
I mean…the Astros. Yeah, the Houston Astros. Myers pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 ER on a career-high 12 hits while striking out three. And while there may not be any cause for concern, it made me giggle on the inside.
On another note, Pedro Feliz, whose 2010 option was declined by the Phillies in November, had two doubles in the loss against San Francisco. Feliz signed a 1-year, $4.5 million deal with Houston in December.
I don’t know about you, but I’m already looking forward to the Astros coming to town in August. Barring an injury, a 4-game series makes it all but inevitable that Myers will have his shot to ‘stick it’ to his former team.
The Phillies kick off their second series of the 2010 season tonight in none other than Houston.
