Scott Stapp Sings a Really Stupid Song About Baseball

If you haven’t already heard it by now, last week Scott Stapp recorded a song for the Florida Marlins entitled “Marlins Will Soar,” a remake of his own song, “You Will Soar.” Now I don’t quite grasp the concept of a soaring Marlin, since a Marlin is a fish and not a bird, but who am I to judge?

Check out this hysterically awful piece of melodic crap:

SING ALONG!

Let’s play ball, it’s game day
We want strikeouts, base hits, double plays
Take the field, hear the roar of the crowd
Come on Marlins, make us proud (x2)

Keep hoping and dreaming and you…will soar!
With a little faith and love, you will soar!

One strike, two strikes, swing away
A diving catch, a stolen base
A perfect game, a triple play
Another playoff race – YES!
World Series champs we’ll be!

Keep hoping and dreaming and you…will soar!
With a little faith and love, you will soar!
Keep hoping and dreaming and you…will soar!

  2. Freakin Scott Stapp man, I thought we were rid of that clown. That’s a crime against music and baseball. ARREST THAT MAN!

  3. Scott Stapp… #Fail

  4. I don’t think I can even dignify this by clicking “play”

  5. I feel like back in high school (for me, being 27), it was perfectly acceptable to listen to Creed, for at least one or two years. Then after that, they just became a joke. To find out Creed went on a ‘renuion’ tour with new album appalled me, but THIS?! This is insanity! A Baseball song?! I feel like the bigwigs down in Florida are a bunch of old people thinking they’ve got the finger on the pulse of pop culture. ‘That Scott Stapp guy, he’s a handsome fella. I bet the chicks dig him, let’s have him sing our song! Everyone would love that!’
